GENEVA, Switzerland/NEW DELHI, India: This week, the FDI World Dental Federation announced that registration for the next FDI Annual World Dental Congress, to be held in New Delhi from 11 to 14 September 2014, is now open with special early bird rates. In addition, the Federation stated that abstracts can be submitted from the beginning of December.
According to the FDI, the abstract submission platform on the FDI 2014 website will open on 3 December. The organisers are confident that the recent record of over 1,800 submissions for this year’s congress will be surpassed.
In addition, the FDI estimates that the 2014 congress, which is being organised in collaboration with the Indian Dental Association, will be attended by more than 16,000 international visitors.
According to FDI President Dr Tin Chun Wong, India is one of Asia’s and the world’s largest and fastest-growing economies. According to a report by Cygnus Business Consulting and Research, the Indian dental equipment industry is expected to be worth over US$116 million, the dental care services market US$1.16 billion and the oral care market US$1.8 billion by the time of the FDI congress next year, she said.
