LEUVEN & BRUSSELS, Belgium: The European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) has announced the results of its 2013 Excellence Award, which annually recognises companies implementing the EFQM Excellence Model, an organisational management system designed to help organisations become more competitive. GC Europe, supplier of dental materials, was named a finalist owing to its quality management.

Of the 30,000 organisations implementing the EFQM Excellence Model worldwide, GC Europeis the first dental company in the world to reach top 10 finalist status.

According to Marc Amblard, EFQM’s CEO, the company was selected especially for its strong customer and end-user orientation. The Foundation stated that GC has been able to sustain good performance in dealer satisfaction since 2005 owing to improvements in production, logistics and sales.

The award is the fourth and highest recognition GC has received since 2006 from the Foundation. The company was awarded the EFQM Committed to Excellence certificate in 2006, the EFQM Recognised for Excellence 4-star certificate in 2008 and the EFQM Recognised for Excellence 5-star certificate in 2010.

The EFQM is a European foundation that encourages companies to achieve sustainable excellence through the EFQM Excellence Model. For the annual evaluation of an organisation’s performance, an expert jury spends an average of 500 hours analysing the company’s application of the model.
