MELVILLE, N.Y., USA/WAREGEM, Belgium: Henry Schein, provider of health care, dental, animal health and medical products and services, has announced the signing of an agreement that will strengthen its European dental and technology businesses further. Under the agreement, the company will acquire 100 per cent ownership of five businesses operating in three European countries from Arseus, a multinational group of companies that supplies products, services and concepts to professionals and institutions in the health care sector.
The businesses to be acquired include Logiciel Julie, a dental practice management software company in France; Arcade Dentaire, a distributor of dental equipment, related consumables and IT solutions headquartered in France; Arseus Dental Solutions Netherlands and Arseus Dental Solutions Belgium, both distributors of dental equipment, related consumables and IT solutions to dental practices and universities; and Arseus Lab, a distributor of specialist products to dental laboratories in the Benelux countries and France.
Arseus is headquartered in Waregem in Belgium, and has a comprehensive product and service offering, including teeth, precious metals, alloys, supplies and equipment. Arseus Lab offers the latest innovations in CAD/CAM product solutions and services to dental laboratories, as well as CEKA PRECI-LINE, its own private-label brand of attachments.

The Logiciel Julie transaction has been completed and Henry Schein expects the remaining transactions to close within the next 90 days. Together, the dental practice management software company and the dental office and laboratory distribution companies represent annual sales of approximately US$97 million (€70 million). Henry Schein did not disclose the financial terms of the transaction.
