Implant Direct introduces 6 mm implant for limited vertical bone height

ZURICH, Switzerland: Implant Direct, a Swiss online supplier of dental implants, has added a 6 mm implant to its range of Legacy3 implants. The new device is the shortest member of the company’s Legacy family and is available in a variety of designs to meet the customer’s individual clinical needs.

“The greatest advantage of the 6 mm length option is that a short implant less frequently requires surgery, such as a sinus lift or sinus augmentation, before inserting the implants. In addition, planning and navigation in situations with limited bone availability are less complex,” explained Timo Bredtmann, sales director for Germany at Implant Direct.

The implant’s conical design and progressively deeper thread structure aid primary stability, according to the company. All of the five diameters available in the range are compatible with any 3.5, 4.5 and 5.7 mm diameter platform Legacy prosthesis Implant Direct offers. In addition, the short implant is surgically and prosthetically compatible with the Tapered Screw-Vent system from Zimmer Dental.

Customers can also purchase an all-in-one package, including the cover screw, transfer, healing collar and abutment, in addition to the implant.
