Next Bio-Emulation Colloquium just around the corner

by Dental Tribune International

BERLIN, Germany: The first Bio-Emulation Colloquium, a certificate programme dedicated to the advancement of excellence in aesthetic dentistry, was held in Santorini in Greece last year to great success. The organisers have now announced that the second meeting will take place in Berlin in Germany on 4 and 5 July 2015. It will offer a wide range of workshops and hands-on courses for both dentists and dental technicians.

The term “bio-emulation” refers to an approach in restorative dentistry that seeks to emulate natural dental structures. The Bio-Emulation study group, an international group of dentists that aims to establish high aesthetic standards in the field through the work of its members, has adopted a holistic approach to this pursuit―hence, the meeting is titled “Bio-Emulation Colloquium 360°”.

More than 250 dental professionals from all over the world are expected to attend the sessions, which will feature live patient treatment, hands-on courses, and mentoring under the supervision of the Bio-Emulation study group.

As part of DTI’s Tribune CME Clinical Masters Program, the Bio-Emulation Colloquium will provide an extensive educational programme that will help participants deepen their understanding of the optical and mechanical properties of natural teeth through examples of scientific research and acquire profound knowledge of biomimetics in dentistry. The lectures and workshops will be held by a number of distinguished speakers, including Dr Pascal Magne, a specialist in aesthetic dentistry, a lecturer, and the author of numerous clinical and research articles; Michel Magne, a dental technician and specialist in the field of ceramic restorations; and Dr Ed McLaren, an experienced prosthodontist and ceramist who is currently Director of the University of California, Los Angeles’ Center for Esthetic Dentistry in the US.

Dental manufacturer GC Europe will again be the event’s main sponsor.

Registration for the meeting is now open on the Bio-Emulation Colloquium website,www.bioemulationcampus.com.
