Oral-B launches new oral health care app
by Dental Tribune International

CINCINNATI, USA: Oral-B, a global supplier of toothbrushes, has released a new digital tool for smartphones. The company announced that the app provides guidance in brushing sessions for both electric and manual toothbrush users to help them maintain good oral health and a thorough oral care routine as recommended by dentists.

According to Oral-B, the app features a two-minute brush timer that is activated through recognition of the brush motor sound, a timer function with quadrant guide for even and thorough cleaning throughout the mouth and a statistics function that charts brushing sessions in weekly and monthly views. In addition, it provides a number of brushing instructions and oral health tips. It also notifies the user when the brush head of the electric toothbrush needs to be replaced.

However, users of manual toothbrushes can also benefit from this app, as it can be activated manually. Thus, they can time the length of brushing in each quadrant too.

Currently, the app is available to smartphone users in the U.S. and Australia. It can be downloaded for iOS from the Apple Store. In the upcoming months, the app will be made available in Germany, Japan and the UK.
