Plandent expands business into Polish market
by Dental Tribune International

WARSAW, Poland/HELSINKI, Finland: European supplier of products and services to dental professionals Plandent Division has announced that it has acquired a 51 per cent stake in the share capital of Kol-Dental, a major Polish dental supply company. The acquisition is another step towards conquering new markets, the Finnish company stated.

Kol-Dental has been a long-term distributor of Planmeca’s, Plandent’s parent company, dental equipment in the Polish market. The company’s owners, Maciek Nurzyński and Jacek Piłko, will continue managing Kol-Dental’s affairs. In addition to dental equipment, new services, such as material management, online ordering, and maintenance and support will be offered through the company in the future, Plandent stated.

Owing to Kol-Dental’s successful long-term performance as a distributor in Poland and in East-Central Europe, Planmeca CEO Tuomas Lokki is confident that the new agreement between the two companies will strengthen Kol-Dental’s position in the Northern European dental supply distribution arena. Furthermore, Polish dental professionals will now have access to Plandent’s services.

Currently, Plandent operates in almost 15 countries throughout Europe. Earlier this year, the company acquired new distributors in Belgium, Russia and Turkey.
