MADRID, Spain: As the first dental school organisation in Europe, the Spanish general council of dental schools and dentists has started using Google software to broadcast activities held at its headquarters live via streaming video. Additionally, users of Google Maps can now take a 360-degree virtual tour of the headquarters by searching for the Consejo General de Dentistas.

The council has committed to using these new technologies and online multimedia communication, including Google Maps Business View and Street View, to give dental schools, registered dentists and the public in general greater access to the council and its activities.

From now on, some information sessions organised at the council headquarters can be followed through video streaming technology. This technology will enable dental schools and registered dentists to follow live the activities of the council from anywhere in the world with Internet access in an exclusive, free, quick and easy way.

To do this, those interested will only need to connect to the platform created by the council (consejodentistas.tv), from where they will be able to access both the live sessions and the archive, with high-quality image and sound, and a a high assurance of uninterrupted playback.

The first event for which this technology was used (in test mode) was the VI Dental Information Day, which was held on 29 May.
